"It is very difficult to express just how amazing and transformative my immersion was. The comparison of this entrenched poverty and kindness of the local people was profound, in an incredibly eye-opening way. I am extremely grateful for the friendships I have formed throughout my three-week journey. In essence, my Nepal experience left me feeling a deep responsibility to continue serving others. I was enabled to realise my full potential as a service volunteer and was given the strength to pursue life with a courageous and selfless outlook."
Dana Compton, Nepal Immersion 2019
“My immersion to Nepal was an unforgettable and transformative experience, one that I cannot put into words. Having the ability to interact and provide service to the Tipling community, amongst a beautiful country and amazing people was definitely a life-changing experience. Nothing can compare to relationships that were formed with the locals, through their generosity and kindness, ultimately leaving me with a greater drive to provide more service to communities.”
Isabelle Paul, Nepal Immersion 2019

About the immersion
The Nepal immersion throws you straight into the action as you serve with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Kathmandu. After a couple of days, we begin our trek.
Our 4-day trek takes us through Langtang National Park to the Ruby Valley, right on the border of Nepal and Tibet. The trek is a time for you to slow down, have a think and develop strong relationships with the group. There will be times for talking, and times for silence, times to laugh and play, and times to enjoy the stillness and tranquillity of the stunning Himalayan landscape.
Our trek will eventually bring us to the village of Tipling. This incredibly isolated, but incredibly rich community is chiselled out of the hillside looking out towards the stunning Ganesh Himal (Elevation: 7422m). Our time in Tipling revolves around developing relationships with the community by teaching and relieving some of the damage that remains from the Nepal Earthquake in 2015.
Once we finish our time in Tipling, we will take a shorter route back to Kathmandu for some well-deserved R&R before our return to Sydney.
